Armagnac Comte De Lauvia wird im Château de Champagne D'Armagnac produziert, im Herzen der Casgoigne in Frankreich. Verwendet werden Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche Trauben. Die Reifung des Armagnacs findet in der sogenannten "Kathedrale" statt, einem riesigen Keller mit über 1800 Fässern.

Generell können die Armagnacs von Comte De Lauvia als aussergewöhnlich sanft mit intensivem Duft von Pflaumen, Feigen, Holz und Waldbeeren beschrieben werden, aber jeder Jahrgang hat natürlich seinen eigenen Geschmack, Charakter und Farbe.

Diese Abfüllung stammt aus der Ernte von 1965.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Sparkling, brilliant amber tints.
Nose: The aroma includes toasty notes of burnt match, broiled meat, roasted nuts with scents of old leather/cowhide, bacon, and sautéed butter.
Palate: The palate entry has tastes of candied apple, caramel, and honey; at midpalate the taste expands to include mead, honey, mince pie, and molasses. Finishes up salty, oaky with a touch of mushroomy, intensely honeyed rancio. About as good as vintage Armagnac gets.
